China's newest luxury train left Guangzhou on its first Xinjiang circuit on 7 September 2026. The first riders are posting. Here is what they report, from the onboard medical room to the fare argument the whole comment section is having.

In a forum thread from the first weeks of operation, he lists what mattered: the entire train is soft-sleeper configuration with no open carriages, and in car one there is an actual medical room staffed the whole way. His father caught a cold mid-journey and was treated onboard, no detour to an unfamiliar town hospital. Other riders in the same thread add the small things: corridors wider than a normal train, handrails everywhere the national age-friendly standard asks for them, and attendants who carry bags and steady elbows without being asked.

The train's welcome lounge keeps coming up in the same words: like a teahouse. Riders describe elders settling in there for the morning, watching the country change through the panoramic windows, neither too cold nor too loud. Elsewhere the pattern repeats at higher energy: a chess and games lounge and a viewing hall in one of the rear cars, satellite television and custom programming in the cabins, and, in a detail one rider called more thoughtful than many luxury hotels, properly ventilated smoking rooms in cars seven and eleven, far from the sleeping cars, so that neither group bothers the other.
Food is a quiet success story. Rather than boxed set meals, the kitchen car serves buffets, and reviewers with elderly parents note the range: soft options for reluctant teeth, regional dishes, enough choice that dietary restrictions stop being a daily negotiation. Underneath the calm, the hardware is doing quiet work, air-spring suspension, couplers machined to a seven-millimetre gap, and sound-absorbing insulation that keeps cabin and corridor quiet at speed.
The train launched with a number attached to its name: fares for the first Xinjiang circuit, eighteen days from Guangzhou through Jiayuguan, Dunhuang, Turpan, Kashgar, Kuqa, the Duku Highway, the Nalati grasslands, Sayram Lake, Hemu and Kanas, opened at 88,880 yuan for the Yayun twin cabin and 108,880 yuan for the larger Lanyue grade.
