Questions About This Journey

No. This is a multi-mode journey that combines luxury train segments with high-speed rail transfers and premium hotel nights. The train segment is typically 2-3 nights, depending on the specific departure configuration. This design allows you to experience the Silk Road Express's signature service while also spending quality time at key destinations.
You visit with a private English-speaking guide who takes your small group through the most significant caves. Cave access is strictly controlled to protect the 1,000-year-old murals. Photography is not permitted inside the caves. The visit typically covers 8-10 caves, including the famous Library Cave.
The Silk Road Classic focuses on Xi'an and Dunhuang, the two most iconic Silk Road cities. Longer routes (such as the 17-day Silk Road Express route) continue west to Turpan and Kashgar. The Classic is designed for travellers who want the essential Silk Road experience in one week.
